Int/Senior Quality Assurance Analyst

Our client is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst in Calgary.

Responsibilities:

•Able to execute job/role accountabilities working independently on most aspects under general supervision
•Develop test cases and test scripts to fully test that the solution meets the requirements presented according to existing test plans
•Find, reproduce, isolate, log, and report defects as needed
•Participate and support UAT with customers
•Work closely with the business and development teams during the test design/test execution phases
•Plan, design, develop, implement and maintain processes for manual testing of our products
•Ensure problems are logged quickly and accurately, and "fixed" problems are verified and closed; will have to work with Developers, Project Managers and Business Analysts to ensure that those issues are identified, logged and resolved
•Review design documents to determine and prepare test specifications and test requirements

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge & Experience:

•Bachelor degree or diploma in a computer science related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
•Minimum 7 years experience in a QA role involving software testing
•Strong understanding of database systems and the use of technology to satisfy business needs
•Oracle and SQL databases, including writing custom SQL queries
•Ability to test application and build-in the following languages: Java, Web Services, .NET, HTML, GWT
•Experience preferred in the area of Dental and Extended Health Care Claim Management, engagement in projects in the health care industry; familiarity with health care standards, information systems, identity management, registries and security management would be ideal
•High level of initiative, decisiveness and business acumen
•Experience writing manual test plans, test cases and reporting test results independently
•Working knowledge of the Windows suite of products: Win XP, Outlook, SharePoint and Microsoft Office
•Knowledge of Browsers (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox)
•French is an asset
•Automated Testing experience is an asset
•Results-orientation / multi-tasking and ability to work in a fast pace environment
•Superior communication skills, both written and oral; strong interpersonal skills
•Ability to quickly learn new technologies
•Excellent problem-solving, analytical and time-management skills
•Must be team oriented with the ability to accept responsibility
•Must have high level attention to details
